My name is Petros Psyllos, I was born in Greece in 1994. From early childhood I have been living in Bialystok, where I grew up and where my mother, who is Polish, comes from. From the age of six I have been interested in technical fields. I have been constructing various devices since the begining of primary school. I've been trying to improve already existing technical solutions from everyday domestic use. I designed many mowers, miniature vacuum cleaners, electric-powered boats, washing machines, fan-makers and other simple mechanical and electrical devices. I even made a light installation for a goat and a device. During this period, I also used old carbon microphones from old fixed-line phones. I laid them out in different rooms in the house, and then connected to a large loudspeaker, with which I eavesdropped on the household (which unfortunately after some time came to light...).

I'm 6 years old
I became interested in electronics in the 3rd grade of primary school when I got into my hands a monthly magazine about electronics. Initially, I assembled the so-called kits for self-assembly. I created the first my own electronic constructions in the 6th grade of primary school. I perfectly remember the voltage converter, which changes the battery voltage to 230V. I also designed a simple FM radio transmitter which I used to broadcast funny songs int the my street. At the last year of primary school I became interested in computer science. I decided to combine computer science with electronics. I learned programming of 8 bit AVR microcontrollers in BASCOM and C.

In 2010-2014, I attended the Electrical Schools Complex in Białystok - high school, where I studied at electronic class. I was still developing my interests in digital & analogue electronics and computer science. During this period I created projects such as the device controlling system using alpha brainwaves or a glove supporting the communication for mute people. I also worked on experimental analog-digital circuits and built prototypes of various devices using STM32 microcontrollers. I was the founder of the Human Technical Support Circle in my school. We worked on devices for people with disabilities, e.g. a remotely controlled car for children with limb paresis. At that time I won the National Olympics of Technical Innovation in Poland twice and won, among others, gold medal at the innovation fair in Brussels.

Now I study Computer Science in the Białystok University of Technology in the Individual Course of Studies (MSc studies). From 2015 I've been scholarship holder of the Diamond Discoverers Association. The scholarship helps me in carrying out projects and to conduct my research. At the beginning of 2018 I became an BSc. At the university I am the chairman of the cognitive science research laboratory Human Technical Support. During my studies I won several awards in the national and international level, which you can read about in the Achievements tab. Since 2017 I have been a member of the Commission for Innovation and Cooperation with the Economy of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP). Thanks to the European Union platform named Hub of Talents, I founded my own company. My start-up gained support from the Polish Regional Development Agency under the Operational Program Eastern Poland 2014-2020 Sub-measure 1.1.1. The company is currently mainly engaged in research related to AI.

Currently I am interested in digital and analogue electronics, mobile systems, artificial intelligence (machine learning and artificial neural networks), computer science, biomedical engineering, robotics and Internet of Things. I am the creator of many copyright solutions, among others helping people with disabilities. Apart from technical fields, my interests are philosophy, cognitive science and neurobiology. I try to combine knowledge from the sciences and the humanities. I am very interested in artificial intelligence and brain activity, and in general - the answer to who we are and what is the nature of the world surrounding us. My scientific supervisors are: Phd Jerzy Sienkiewicz and Phd Krzysztof Jurczuk from Bialystok University of Technology.

I am constantly trying to popularize scientific knowledge. I was a speaker at many scientific and popular science conferences at national and international level. I conduct courses in electronics and computer science - I have worked, for example, with Research and Academic Computer Network - a Polish research and development organization and data networks operator.

I am also interested in music, film and theater, where I actively participate in theatrical workshops. In my free time I record video materials and I co-create and I am television host in television programs about inventions and European Funds on Polish Television. The TV programs were broadcast on the main TV channel in Poland (Gene of Innovation and Łap startup on TVP1 - more in the TV tab).
