A student from Bialystok among the best young inventors in Poland [Onet]

Of the more than 150 candidates from Poland, the jury chose the10 most talented young people involved in science and technology. The prestigious group included a student from the Bialystok University of Technology, Petros Psyllos. The young innovator received an award for an invention that assists the blind and visually impaired.

 
They are young and have created unique solutions, thanks to which the world is changing for the better. The Gala, Innovators Under 35 Poland, which celebrates the most talented Polish innovators under the age of 35, was held in Warsaw. A list of the best inventors was published in the MIT Technology Review, the prestigious American magazine belonging to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 
“This is the second edition of the Innovators Under 35 in Poland. The poll has been organized since 1999. For the past five years, the organizers have started looking for talented innovators outside the United States. Organized around the world are now 22 editions of the competition, including six in Europe”, explains the spokeswoman of Bialystok University of Technology, Dorota Sawicka.
From among 150 candidates from Poland, the jury selected 10 young people involved in science and technology. Among them was Petros Psyllos of Bialystok University of Technology, who was awarded for the system, "Matia" - a device for the blind and visually impaired. The purpose of the invention is to describe the world with words, music, and tactile stimuli.
Petros Psyllos, with his project "Matia", will represent Poland in July at the world finals of the Imagine Cup competition organized by Microsoft.
